Endless debate of the world’s fastest car finally settled

There is a lot of debate in the automotive world about which car is the fastest on the face of the planet. Of course, it should go without saying that there are different types of “fast.”

What I mean, is that it is hard to measure what the world’s fastest car is, based on certain standards. Are we measuring the top speed of any given car? Or, are we measuring ¼ mile time? How about 0-60 or 0-100 times? Are we talking about going in a circle on a track, or a road course?

There are different types of fast. For example, if you stick a Hennessy Venom on a quarter mile track next to top fuel drag legend John Force, the Venom gets smoked because a top fuel dragster can run that track in about four seconds. But, you may be thinking, the Venom is one of the fastest cars in the world…

…I agree. But remember, there are different kinds of “fast.”

My point is that this is really an endless (not to mention pointless) debate. However, there are certain cars out there, called hypercars, which stand apart from the rest of the pack. These cars start at about 1 million dollars (plus or minus), and go up significantly from there.

They are also about as rare as a unicorn. If you see a Bugatti Veyron or Koenigsegg Agera out in the wild (AKA not at a show), you wet your pants. Why? Because they are sexy. Furthermore, who knows if you’ll ever see one again…?

Just for giggles, I’ve added a video to this post that I think is pretty awesome.

This next video tests two of the cars that claim the world’s fastest car spot – Bugatti and Koenigsegg – from a rolling start, and the results may surprise you. I was surprised. The first two and a half minutes are very boring, and just shows the guy talking.
